In today’s edition: The PCs have picked their flag-bearer in the soon-to-be-called byelection in Scarborough Southwest, where the Liberals were trolling big time. Meanwhile, New Democrats are making bank and another government chief of staff has left the building. Plus: the Project Ontario party featured some high-profile Tory dissenters.

AND THE WINNER IS…ASM NOORALLAH TARUN, a family physician who ran for the federal Conservatives in the 2025 election, beat out two other contenders (instead of three) to win the PC candidate nomination for SSW last night.

The PCs have been pretty low-key about the nomination, perhaps not wanting a repeat of the drama in the Liberals’ corner. Media were not invited to observe the meeting on the Danforth.

Who did show up: The Liberals rolled out a billboard truck to remind everyone about Premier DOUG FORD’s $28.9-million jet saga. According to them, the PCs tried to shut it down and threatened to call the cops (“Must have hit a sore spot!” said one Libe…
