MARK CARNEY has grounded DOUG FORD’s jet-setting dreams — testing their political bromance ahead of summer byelections and a simmering trade war.

It comes as the pair have been singing kumbaya and putting up a united front against tariff-happy neighbours to the south — the Premier regularly plays bad cop to Carney’s good cop, and even deferred to the Prime Minister to lead the way on the latest tariff threats from DONALD TRUMP. But a bump in the honeymoon came on Friday, when the feds dropped the hammer on Ford’s high-flying dream to bring jets to Toronto’s Billy Bishop island airport. After a nearly two-month consultation that pulled in a staggering 87,000-plus responses, Ottawa is officially hitting the breaks on any expansion besides the safety expansion that’s already underway.
