The temperature at Queen’s Park is rising.
NDP Leader MARIT STILES refused to apologize for suggesting DOUG FORD could one day face prison time over the Greenbelt scandal — and the Premier is accusing her of going full Trump mode.
He said: prison talk crosses the line. She said: That’s rich from a government under RCMP investigation.
The Trumpian charge is especially spicy because Ford has faced versions of that accusation himself for years — he regularly bashes the media, plays into the us-versus-them routine, once likened then-Oppo leader ANDREA HORWATH to “nails on a chalkboard” and did nothing to stop “lock her up” chants about ex-Premier KATHLEEN WYNNE at his election rallies in 2018.
Hot heckles: Government House Leader STEVE CLARK also flipped the script under questioning from NDP Leader MARIT STILES in the morning’s debate, accusing her of invoking “dangerous American-style Trumpian rhetoric that, quite frankly, has no place in this Legislature.”
