RUMOURS ABOUND
With the byelections in the rearview mirror and the fall session less than two months out, the chatter at Queen’s Park has turned to a potential cabinet shuffle.
I know, I know. Shuffle speculation is a favourite parlour game among political circles (and readers of this newsletter), and until Premier DOUG FORD actually pulls the trigger, it’s just that — rumours.
And they’re evergreen: Even the Premier himself had openly mused about a 2026 shakeup that never came to pass — Ford has long been the type to dance with the ones that brought him. For now, nothing is confirmed, everything is in flux, and this may just be the usual summer buzz.
But that doesn’t mean we can’t play a just-for-fun round of who’s up and who’s down.
The timing makes sense. It’s been well over a year since the PCs won their third majority mandate, they’re fresh off a pair of byelection holds, and there’s still plenty of time for ministers to get up to speed on their new files before the House reconvene…
