Accusations of MPPs acting DONALD TRUMP-esque came full circle this weekend as NATE ERSKINE-SMITH lost the Liberal nomination in Scarborough Southwest, punching a serious blow to his bid for provincial leader. But what he does next could make or break those ambitions.

Erskine-Smith, who lost the nomination to Domino’s Pizza mogul AHSANUL HAFIZ by a slim 19 ballots, isn’t going down without a fight.

In a rainy scrum with reporters after the results — something Erskine-Smith reportedly promised to do indoors, but his staff attempted to walk him out (and got testy in the moment) — the federal MP for neighbouring Beaches-East York suggested there were irregularities like his scrutineer team had never seen before, including members who had “lost driver’s licenses or just moved to to area.”
