SMOKE ON THE WATER — After booing the Premier at Ford Fest and crashing his announcements, OPSEU is taking their protests up a notch by trekking to cottage country.
OPSEU prez JP HORNICK posted clips of members in Muskoka, where Ford has a cottage, decked out in their purple (not blue!) shirts with union flags and signs fixed to their kayaks, saying that “while workers across Ontario remain on strike fighting for community services, [Ford] just gave himself a 21-week summer break. So picket line paid a visit.”
It wasn’t immediately clear if the Premier himself was there. He did swing by the Legislature’s big Canada Day bash on Wednesday.
The tactic is already stirring up the usual debate over where the line between protests and personal targeting stands.
